Tattersall is named after the London horse market whose blankets carried the check, and it has been on country shirts ever since. Barbour's version is all cotton, cut roomy rather than close, with contrast facings inside the cuffs and down the front placket that you only see once the sleeves are rolled. Navy and olive is the one that works in a pub as well as a field.
