MONOKEL

Robert Sandgren and Fredrik Sävenberg were snowboarders and filmmakers before they started Monokel in Stockholm in 2013, working out of an old porcelain factory in the archipelago. The frames are plant-based acetate, the lenses are Zeiss, and since 2021 the acetate has been biodegradable, cotton and wood fibre, made to last but not forever, as they put it. This is the Apollo in matt cola with a grey gradient lens. Each frame takes a few months, which for sunglasses is a long time.

Oi Oi, Look Who's Back

It’s been a minute. A few chapters, a few wrong turns, plenty of good stories, and enough miles on the clock to make the MOT tester nervous. But after all that, Oi Polloi is still here. And, frankl...
