G.H.BASS

George Henry Bass started making boots in Wilton, Maine in 1876, for woodsmen first, then aviators, then Admiral Byrd's Antarctic crews. The Weejun came in 1936, the first penny loafer, lifted from the slip-on moccasins Norwegian farmers wore, the name being Bass's own shortening of Norwegian. This is the Larson, the Weejun as it comes, in a smoke paprika leather. The slot across the front is where the penny went.
