CLARKS ORIGINALS

Nathan Clark was serving with the army in Burma in 1949 when he noticed the suede boots officers were having made in Cairo's bazaars, and the Desert Boot came out the year after. The Wallabee followed in the late sixties, a two-piece moccasin on a crepe sole, first made in Kilkenny. Clarks are still in Street, Somerset, where the family started in 1825. We have both, in suede, leather, beeswax and the odd hair-on. The crepe sole is the whole point.
