The Cowichan sweater comes from the Cowichan people of Vancouver Island, who adapted European knitting to their own wool and their own motifs in the nineteenth century. Frizmworks have knitted this one as thick as the yarn will allow, so it is genuinely warm, then put a two-way YKK zip in it. The neckline is kept low rather than high, which makes it a good deal easier to wear over a collar.
