Rene Lacoste got the crocodile nickname in Boston in 1923, when his Davis Cup captain promised him a crocodile skin suitcase if he won his next match. He lost, the American press ran with it anyway, and ten years later the name was on a shirt. This is the same cotton petit pique as the short sleeved original, just with the sleeves down. Mother of pearl buttons.
