- Close fitting and low bulk
The bit most people forget. Elmer, the glove line from Japanese maker Swany, do a liner thin enough to disappear under a mitten but warm enough to leave on when you take the mitten off. Mostly polyester with a bit of cotton, and a stretch cuff that stays put rather than riding down your wrist. Useful on its own in autumn, essential under something heavier in January.
