An anorak, then. The Vardag from Fjallraven, made in G-1000, which is recycled polyester and organic cotton and takes Greenland Wax if you fancy making it properly weatherproof. The kangaroo pocket is the star: deep, warm, buttoned shut, ideal for hands, pasties and whatnot. Storm suits it, name and all. Cut loose enough to go over a jumper without a fight.
