Roughout means the leather is used flesh side out, so it takes a scuff and looks better for it rather than needing a polish. Muleskinner is Red Wing's oiled version, tanned at their own S.B. Foot tannery in Minnesota. Goodyear welted onto a Traction Tred wedge, so it can be resoled when the time comes. The No. 23 last dates from the fifties and runs generous through the forefoot.
