Properly waterproof rather than water resistant, because this is GORE-TEX two layer and not one of the INFINIUM windproof fabrics that get called GORE-TEX in conversation. Goldwin line the crown and the earflaps with Octa, a hollow section yarn that traps air without adding weight. The brim has an insert so it holds its shape, and the flaps flip up when the weather turns out fine after all.
