New Balance's Protection Pack takes existing shapes and makes them fit for weather, and this DX version of the 2002 gets a GORE-TEX membrane behind the upper so puddles stay on the outside. Underneath is the usual 2002 arrangement of ABZORB in the midsole and heel, N-ergy for shock and a Stability Web plate. Shipyard with silver metallic is a grey that looks like a wet dock.
