Raymond Stegeman drew the Wayfarer for Bausch and Lomb in 1952, using new plastic moulding to get away from the wire frames everybody else was making. It sold well, nearly died off in the seventies, then came back when Tom Cruise put a pair on in Risky Business. Ray-Ban now make this one in bio-based acetate, which changes nothing about how it looks and quite a lot about where the material comes from.
