Artificial Intelligence cover from Warp: a 3D-rendered android lounging in an armchair among scattered records, on green

Whether or not your IQ is high enough to enjoy the fairly cerebral brand of electronic music that Warp Records put out in the 90s, you can’t deny their record covers were pretty special. After all, there’s nothing quite like some 3D rendering of an android casually blowing smoke rings from his e-cigarette as he kicks back in his living room listening to Kraftwerk.

Artificial Intelligence II cover from Warp: 3D-rendered pitcher plants and smoke rings among leaves, on maroon

Back of Pioneers of the Hypnotic Groove, the first Warp Records compilation, with 3D-rendered red tanks and a track list

The Evolution of the Groove cover: a 3D-rendered desert with a silver Warp logo, chrome spheres and giant insects

The Theory of Evolution cover: an animal skull below a grey collage of fossils, specimens and a sepia portrait

Fuse, Dimension Intrusion cover: abstract grey, yellow and blue geometric shapes against green and red stripes

Polygon Window, Surfing On Sine Waves cover: a sepia photo of dark rocks and breaking waves under a pale sky

Tequila Slammers and the Jump Jump Groove Generation cover: 3D-rendered reeds, a dragonfly, a microchip and bubbles

Black Dog Productions, Bytes cover: a small 3D-rendered mountain landscape under a lilac sky, set on black

Squarepusher, Hard Normal Daddy cover: purple pixel-art figures atop a gasholder, pixel dancers along the bottom

Autechre, Incunabula cover: a grainy, distorted sepia collage with stretched lettering and a repeated textured strip
