Dame Margaret Barbour designed the Bedale in 1980 with equestrian practicalities in mind, which is where the shorter length, the relaxed fit and the rear vents all come from. Six ounces of waxed cotton, a brass ring pull zip behind a studded Stormfly front, and a drip strip inside so what runs off the wax does not run onto you. Barbour say over 75,000 wax jackets a year go through their repair and re-wax service.
