John Barbour set up in South Shields in 1894, selling oilskins to sailors, fishermen and mariners. This is Barbour's stretch belt, woven so it has some give, and finished in leather at the tip and at the buckle end. There are no punched holes, so the prong goes through the weave wherever the fit is right. Dark olive, so it sits under a wax jacket without anyone noticing.
