Clinton C. Filson set up in Seattle in 1897 to kit out prospectors heading for the Klondike, and warm wool was most of the business. This is a thick fisherman's rib with a shawl collar you can button up against the wind. Wool will take on a fair bit of water before it feels damp, which is the whole reason for wearing it. Not made in the USA, this one is imported.
