The Stampers in Ken Kesey's Sometimes a Great Notion are an Oregon logging family who will not give an inch, and they would have approved of this. Filson stopped testing the Log Carrier at 1,400 pounds with it still going strong. It is a firewood tote in Rugged Twill, Filson's dense 2x2 cotton twill, waxed on the surface and fitted with riveted leather handles. The twill starts stiff and softens with use.
