Hestra began in a small farmhouse in the timber forests of Smaland in the 1930s, where Martin Magnusson made gloves for the local lumberjacks, and the fourth generation of the family still runs it. These are deerskin, which Hestra rate as amazingly supple, with Primaloft Gold inside and a wool rib cuff to stop the wind going up your sleeve. Windproof, though there is no membrane, so treat heavy rain with suspicion. Black, which hides it entirely.
