René Lacoste took the sleeves off a tennis shirt in 1933 so he could actually move in it, and the L.12.12 has needed very little doing to it since. The petit piqué was invented for that first one: 100% cotton, fine, breathable and 185gsm, finished with a ribbed collar, mother of pearl buttons and side splits. The crocodile on the chest takes 2,367 stitches, should anyone ask.
