Every Monokel frame is made by hand, a process the Stockholm company say takes well over three months from start to finish. The Apollo is their softened rectangle, here in a polished Cola acetate with brown gradient lenses. Brown lenses carry a red tint that sharpens contrast and depth, and these are category 1, so they belong on a grey day or indoors, which is where Studio 54 wore theirs.
