Monokel are a Stockholm outfit who make their frames from Mazzucchelli bio-acetate, a plant based material spun out of cotton and wood pulp rather than oil. The Apollo is their rectangular shape, squared off but with the edges taken down so it does not look like a pair of safety glasses. Matt Cola is a flat dark brown, and the grey gradient lenses run dark at the top to lighter at the bottom, which helps when you need to read a menu.
