Paul Smith opened his first shop in 1970, a twelve foot by twelve foot room on Byard Lane in Nottingham that only bothered opening on Fridays and Saturdays. Classic with a twist is how he has described the approach ever since, and this shirt jacket is the classic half: cotton and linen, point collar, buttons all the way down. The twist is the pocket on the sleeve and the studs on the flaps.
