The 714 is the folding version of the 649, and Persol say it takes ten more manufacturing steps than a standard frame. Persol put its fame down to Steve McQueen, who wore a pair on the set of The Thomas Crown Affair. Havana acetate, and the green lenses are polarised crystal, which for Persol means actual mineral glass rather than plastic. The arms flex on the Meflecto system, so they sit to the shape of your head rather than grip it.
