A boat shoe with the lacing done by hand round the vamp, which is the bit that separates a proper one from a slip-on with a string on it. Ralph Lauren have lined it in leather, padded the footbed and put a textured rubber sole underneath. Desert tan suede, rawhide laces, metal grommets. Wear without socks and accept the consequences.
