The R stands for Regulator, the fleece system Patagonia's designers worked out at their Bozeman warehouse in 1998 and released the year after. TechFace is a double weave with grid fleece on the inside and a smooth, hard-wearing face that sheds water. This one was built to go under waders, so there are overlays where the braces rub and gussets under the arms that stay out of the way of a cast. Basin Green.
