The 714 is the folding one, and Persol reckon it takes ten extra steps to build compared with a standard frame. It hinges at both temples and again at the bridge, so it goes flat into a pocket. Giuseppe Ratti started Persol in Turin in 1917 making glasses for aviators and racing drivers, and the name is short for per il sole, for the sun. Green crystal means actual mineral glass.
